Focus on the Steps
Visualising how to achieve a goal can sometimes be a little daunting.
An exciting goal that stretches the possibilities can often seem out of reach – even with the best strategies in place.
So how do you overcome this and start working towards achieving your goal?
Firstly, don’t put a lot of pressure on yourself. Remind yourself that you are not expected to achieve your goal today. We put timeframes on goals because it takes time to achieve them – it’s all part of the process.
Secondly, make sure that the strategies and actions you have chosen will help you achieve your goal. You will begin to feel your goal is more achievable if you can see how your plans will lead you there.
Thirdly, and most importantly, just focus on the steps. Any goal can seem very far off in the beginning so concentrate instead on the daily or weekly steps. Think of it like this – if you want to reach the top of a staircase you just need to focus on climbing up each step.
Remember that achieving your goal is all about consistently working towards it – do this and you’ll arrive there sooner than you think!
